The POR Protocol: Tying Data To Geographic Locations In Mobile Disconnected Networks
نویسنده
چکیده
We propos e an efficient Position-based Opportunistic Routing (POR) protocol which takes advantage of the stateless property of geographic routing and the broadcast nature of wireless medium. When a data packet is sent out, some of the neighbor nodes that have overheard the transmission will serve as forwarding candidates, and take turn to forward the packet if it is not relayed by the specific best forwarder within a certain period of time. By utilizing such in-the-air backup, communication is maintained without being interrupted. The additional latency incurred by local route recovery is greatly reduced and the duplicate relaying caus ed by packet reroute is also decreased. In the case of communication hole, a Virtual Destination-based Void Handling (VDVH) scheme is further proposed to work together with POR. we take inspiration from real life solutions. Suppose if we lost/found an item, a common practice is to post a note around the area where it was lost/ found, and later we refer back to the same location to check for further updates. Similarly, in the anytime-anywhere mobile sensing era, information is commonly tagged with location, thus encouraging location-based queries. To facilitate such queries, we advocate building “directories” around locations of interest by having nearby mobiles carry the data generated around these locations.

Some types of social networking applications installed in the mobile devices require users to share own locations while using them. Adversaries glean users’ private information through shared locations via social networking application and public available geographic data. In this paper, we propose a user sensitive privacy-preserving location sharing system to avoid leaking. Users define sensit...
متن کاملAn Energy Efficient Clustering Method using Bat Algorithm and Mobile Sink in Wireless Sensor Networks
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) consist of sensor nodes with limited energy. Energy efficiency is an important issue in WSNs as the sensor nodes are deployed in rugged and non-care areas and consume a lot of energy to send data to the central station or sink if they want to communicate directly with the sink. Recently, the IEEE 802.15.4 protocol is employed as a low-power, low-cost, and low rat...
متن کاملImproving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...
